Las cosas que pasan en este viaje son realmente increíbles; recibo tanto cariño y tanto apoyo de la gente que seguro que con el paso del tiempo y echando la vista atrás serán los recuerdos mas bonitos.
He pasado unos días en Portland, donde me he alojado en casa de unos amigos que me han tratado muy bien; ellos también habían viajado y se sentían en deuda por todo el cariño que ellos habían recibido.
Mi viejo sillín
El padre de uno de ellos, en cuanto vio mi viejo sillín no tardó en sugerir que con ese sillín, tendría problemas de fecundidad. Y seguidamente me dijo que él me compraría uno a la mañana siguiente. Yo le dije que no hacía falta, que mas o menos me las apañaba.
Aún así, insistió y a la mañana siguiente me compró otro. Yo le dije que sólo con la condición de que se quedara con el viejo sillín (que en seattle fui capaz de arreglar)
Mas tarde, le mandé un correo de agradecimiento por el nuevo sillín y por el resto de material (luz delantera, esterilla, e impermeable) que me regaló. No tardó mas de una hora en responderme con el mensaje que os muestro.

On the trip home I thought “oh my God the old seat is still there”.
I was going to recover it tomorrow.
Then I thought Juan will know that and recover it! You did.
Yes Murphy’s law has exceptions and you are one who exemplifies that.
We have wonderful daughters, they married really great guys and produced astounding grand kids.
Given all of that if I ever had a son, I’d want him to be exactly like you! Going for whatever he believed in and doing it to the ultimate. I mean ultimate.
I’ve run across a few folks since we departed today and they ask “how is your day going”? I say “fantastic”.They wonder why and I explain spending my day with you and explain your trip. They are dumbfounded. And at the same time excited that someone is dedicated to excellence.
There is not nearly enough excellence in our lives today and being with you renews my hope that there will be more of it.I know a few people who have been the best in the world at what they do. You have been added to the list!

NI que decir tiene que me dejó sin palabras y con una emoción en el cuerpo que hace que este tipo de momentos se me queden grabados en la memoria de este viaje; también alguna que otra lágrima quería salir de mis ojos.
